The Seattle Aquarium on Pier 59 completed a 120,000 gallon exhibit and 20,000 square foot tenant improvement while remaining open and achieving a record amount of visitors. The project began construction while a pier replacement and exterior renovation was concurrently underway.

The new space houses the new Windows on Washington Waters exhibit, which is a 40-foot-long wave tank. The scope of work also involved a ticketing/entry area along with flexible rental space and art sound system. The project includes a decorative rockwork & exhibitry, acrylic glazing, aquatic life support systems, raised access floor, an open stair, shell & core spaces for a future café and gift Shop, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work.

The project was completed while Jackie Costigan was at Turner Construction, under Jackie’s leadership.
