Boeing "Move to the Lake"

Renton, WA
CLIENT: Boeing Company
PROJECT COST: $25 million

The Boeing "Move to the Lake" project involved the renovation of a manufacturing plant and the construction of three office buildings with associated support facilities within an occupied manufacturing facility. The buildings house the final assembly operations for the 737 and 757 airplanes.

Building three office towers within the plant without disrupting Boeing’s daily operations presented the toughest project challenge. The project team devised a plan to bring structural steel into each one of the mezzanine podiums without the use of a mobile crane. The mezzanine podiums were then vertically expanded to accommodate over 375,000 square feet of office space and more than 160,000 square feet of cosmetic integration and a new 15,000 square foot cafeteria.

The project was completed while Jackie Costigan was at Turner Construction, under Jackie’s leadership.
Role on project: General Contractor/Construction Manager.
